1.  Looking for a Few Good Acts:  The Newport News Active Lifestyles Program is planning another Poetry & Comedy Open Mic Night on Wednesday, June 18th. The event will be held at Brittingham-Midtown Community Center from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  It is open to poets, comedians, story tellers, singers & musicians. This is a family-friendly venue and is free and open to the public.  This is where YOU come in….They need about 10 artists to register by Friday, June 13th to make this event happen!  If you are interested, please contact Angelia Edwards at 757-591-4853 or email Angelia at aedwards@nngov.com.

Looking for a Few Good Acts....


The Newport News Active Lifestyles Program is planning a Poetry & Comedy Open Mic Night on Wednesday, May 21st. The event will be held at Brittingham-Midtown Community Center from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  It is open to poets, comedians, story tellers, singers & musicians. This is a family-friendly venue and is free and open to the public.

This is where YOU come in….They need about 10 artists to register today (May 20, 2014) in order to make this event happen.

Join us on the third Tuesday of each month, when the Museum is open from 5-9pm with FREE admission. Each MOCA NIGHT offers different experiences for visitors including open-mic performances, conversations gallery tours led by educators, hands-on art-making, grown-up scavenger hunts and a cash bar in our Atrium.

Come share your words, thoughts and music to inspire in an open and supportive environment. Open-mic is presented by Ryker Jackson and Angelina Maureen, who organize the always standing room only—open mic nights at Kerouac Café, 757 Creative Space, and Bean There Coffee House.
