Tonight: The Wet Poetry Spot!!

February and Richmond Poetry!!

Poetry & Jazz Tasting
C'est Le Vin, 15 N. 17th St.
Thursday February 5, 7pm
Relaxing with good wine, live poetry, and smooth tunes—what more could you ask of a Thursday night? Join us at Shockoe wine bar C'est le Vin & enjoy a glass and/or your favorite tapas while feasting your ears on poetry & jazz. Local wordsmiths of all experience levels will give you a “taste” of what they do, and Randy Burton and Bob Lambert of Super64 (and songstress Wendy Carter) will show off their stuff. Have a few verses to throw down yourself? Make sure to get on the list! Look for me early in the evening or email ahead of time.

With an open mic that is quickly becoming known for welcoming new voices, taZa is an evening of poetry you don't want to miss. Plus, this Westover Hills coffeehouse’s selection of beer & wine and fresh-made sandwiches & goodies make it easy to spend an evening taking in some cool wordsmithery. Sign up early to maximize your mic time!

Freewrite Tuesdays @ Globehopper
GlobeHopper Coffeehouse & Lounge
2100 E. Main St., RVA 23223
Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30am
Looking for an excuse to get writing? Tired of drumming your fingers on your desk at home? Join our growing group at Globehopper! This is an informal meeting to freewrite and converse-- we believe writing doesn't have to be a solitary sport, and that you never know what inspiration might walk through the door. Group is open to specialized topics and sharing, but there is no formal critique or workshop agenda— simply show up & come and go as you please. We’d love to have you!

POETS WANTED!

Hello Poets and Poetry Lovers,

Because we have only five  poems inspired by the Peninsula Glass Guild Exhibition this month, we are inviting any poets to read one or two poems (of reasonable length) not inspired by the PGG Exhibition, for this coming Sunday’s Poetry Reading at 2:30 pm. Poems may be by you or favorites by another poet.

We hope to see you Sunday!

Thank you,
Jim
