Cancellation Notice

From Last Tuesdays Facebook Page:

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the end of an era with Last Tuesdays at 45 Degrees Martini Lounge. As many of you probably already know, 45 Degrees has closed its' doors. We would like to thank 45 Degrees for an almost six year run. We would also like to thank everyone that supported us during this period. Thank you to all Artists who made it possible. We are currently regrouping, searching for another venue. February is obviously cancelled. We would love to find a new home for a possible return in March. Any suggestions and direction would be greatly appreciated.

February 8th
6 PM - 9 PM
Weather:  30—48° Snow Showers

Central Rappahannock Regional Library
Headquarters, 1201 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401
Join us in the Headquarters Library Theatre on Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg as we bring our quarterly featured poet, Roscoe Burnems! Roscoe is based out of Richmond, Virginia and was part of the Beltway Slam (D.C) team that won the National Poetry Slam in 2014!

In honor of Black History month there will not be an open mic; instead, we will be collecting former CommonWealth Slam attendees opinions on their favorite poems by African-American authors and we will then spend an hour sharing some of these poems.

6 p.m. O.P.P. - Other people's poetry!
6:45 p.m. Writing Workshop led by Roscoe Burnems
7:45 p.m. Announcements
8:00 p.m. Roscoe Burnems Performs
8:56 p.m.: Get kicked out by security and go to IHOP for poetry & pancakes!

Cover: Free but please try to support the artist. All artists are not able to accept credit cards so please keep that in mind when you come to the show!

Afterwards, come out to Central Park IHOP Fredericksburg, Va as we indulge in Poetry and Pancakes. P&P is an editing, critiquing, reading event or just an eating event. Either way, something will be delicious.

Located mere blocks from the University of Mary Washington, CommonWealth Slam is looking to become a part of the Fredericksburg community and provide a hub between Washington D.C. and Richmond, Virginia for traveling performance artists.

Our community spotlight has not yet been taken for this show. If you run a local business, charity, or sell art, please come in and speak on what you do and how you interact with the community.

This is sanctuary. This is safe space. This is spoken word.

P.S. For those who have allowed me to hold on to their shirttails and stories, thank you. --Robert
