Words on Fire is back! Liven up your month with us & a dose of hot verse at Firehouse! Let's catch the night on fire!

Zata-February-2017FW
Poetry Night @ Café Zata
Café Zata, 5047 Forest Hill Ave., RVA 23225
Friday February 24, 7pm
Join us again for a fabulous night of poetry at Westover Hills hangout Cafe Zata, a coffeeshop replete with caffeinated goodies (including our own signature Richmond poets' blend "Nevermore"), sandwiches, burgers, sweets, house-made donuts, beer, wine & more. Poets take the stage to share their talents here every fourth Friday; new voices are always welcome. It's an evening of open mic awesomeness!

Freewrite Tuesdays at Sub Rosa
Sub Rosa Bakery, 620 N. 25th St., RVA 23223
1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30am-ish
Looking for an excuse to get out of the house and hang in a cozy coffee & pastry spot? We know just the place! Meet up with us at Sub Rosa on February 7th and/or 21st.
Whatever your genre, this is a welcoming and informal venue to freewrite and feed off the creative energy around us and in each other-- we believe writing doesn't always have to be done at a lonely desk or secluded retreat. Although we're open to specialized topics and sharing, there is no formal critique or workshop agenda, and no RSVP required— simply show up ready to write!

Postponements Due to Impending Inclement Weather

Hi Everyone,

Well, here we go again!  It’s obvious that travel tomorrow will be hazardous.

Our poetry reading scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 7, at the Stryker Building, is Postponed!

The reading, involving the same poets, is rescheduled for the following Saturday, January 14, at 11:00am, in Room 127 of the Stryker Building.

I hope to see you there, then.

Ed
